Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: I love these speakers and have for 10 years. I replaced a set of Paradigm monitors (floor standing with 2 6 inch drivers and a 1" tweeter). Best speakers I have heard for under $600. Imaging is great and highs are crystal clear. As for the bass comments, I must disagree. Maybe it is my set up. Onkyo M-504 and Carver preamp and NAD turntable, but these things can make the 20x16 room they are in shake. I have heard them in a home theater set up and feel they may be a bit bright but for two channel they are outstanding.

Review 3 of 108
Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: Not for use in stereo systems, they are poor in impact and definition, but if you use them in a Home Cinema thats another story,in that case they are fantastic and a bargain, you feel part of a movie and in his action,a warm sound, good treble but low bass, but with a good subwoofer there is no problem.
Take a chance and listen in A/V System, they dont dissapoint you. Strengths: Warm and sweet midrange and high frequency too with a good balanced cable. Weaknesses: Bass lacks in definition and strength but thats all.

from Dewar's Audio Summary: Well as the Gent at the start of this Web article stated break these puppies in. I am very happy with these speakers. My friend has the top of the line Paradigms or how ever you spell it, and they stink compared to these beautiful speakers not to mention his speakers are the size of a baby purple elephant vacuum cleaner. I believe that your source of music has as much to do with the over all impression of these speakers as does the room you are in. I tested the cheaper and newer B&Ws and it was the midrange that was lacked in the cheaper model compared to these. Yet the cheaper B&W speakers is still worth the $$$. As the guy in the audio shop said these speakers are British which tend to be neutral. Well that is what I want, American and Canadian speakers are all about Bass. Where as these are like listening to high quality headphones, you get true sound. Any crap speaker can make base, I want to hear music pages turn and singers inhale. A very simple amp or receiver will do these speakers justice. My 10 yr old Sherwood sounds great on these Brit Beauties. If you are doing the home theater this then disregard this advice I haven't tested these on surround. If you are in Ottawa Canada I would say talk to the guys at Dewar's, their used speaks are worth a gaze too. Actually these aree used speakers and they still sound mint so at least I know they can handle some use. Strengths: Clear and even handed, without the grill it looks eveen better. Made in a real country where people still have some workmanship. Weaknesses: I am cheap so I'll say price. Similar Products Used: Other Canadian speakers at Future Shop and the Sony store and they all fail large compared to these.
