Price Paid:  $94.00 from Overstock.com

Summary:
I decided to try out this package based on numerous reviews I''ve seen here and elsewhere. I must say, I''m extremely happy I did so! I love good sound, but I''ve never been one to be sucked into paying high dollars for speakers, etc. I''ve been wanting to put together a good-sounding, affordable home theather system, nad if you''d like to do the same, make these speakers a part of your plan. I can''t believe how good the AudioSource vs 3.5 set sounds, considering the price. People had raved about this set in all the reviews I had read, but I still wasn''t expecting much. The 3.5''s sound fantastic. Crisp, clear sound pours from the front, rear, and center channel. They perform exceptionally well in both Dolby Digital & DTS modes, as well as Pro-Logic. They have plenty of handling power, able to take up to 100 watts. However, I would advise the additional purchase of a subwoofer. The frequency respone of the 3.5''s is rated at 80-20k hz. They sound good without a sub, but adding one really rounds out the set. The speakers themselves are small, and can blend in nicely with your decor, they don''t stand out like a sore thumb. The audio portion of my home theater setup cost me roughly $500 and sounds great. Here''s the rundown: Sherwood RD-7103 100-watt Dolby Digital/DTS Receiver - $170 at Circuit City AudioSource vs 3.5 - $93.27 with free shipping AudioSource SW12 150-watt subwoofer - $240 including shipping & replacement warranty from Buy.com I have a large living room, about 20''x13'', which opens right into a country kitchen, and my setup fills the entire 1st floor with crisp sound, without even hitting 50 on the volume meter. Running the volume at 35 while playing ''The Haunting'' in DTS mode, the entire house rattles. The AudioSource speakers are a big part of that sound. The only other drawback, aisde from needing a sub to get the most out of these speakers, is their appearance. They aren''t ugly, but they only come in black, and come with some pretty dreadful-looking wall mounts. As I grow older, I''m starting to realize many things, like you don''t have to pay for a company''s advertising or infomercials or name-recognition to get a quality product. Why pay $500+ for speakers alone when you can have a system for that cost? This set gives you great sound at an incredibly reasonable price.

Strengths:
Great sound, sturdy build, impossible to beat the price, better sound than much more expensive untis

Weaknesses:
Black is only color option, wall-mounting brackets could be better

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
