Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $2500.00 from Expert

Summary:
First I should probably mention, that it's not the M3 but the M3 Super version that I have.
I bought theese babies after listning to several other speakers for the last 2 months or so. I'm very impressed with it's ability to play almost any kind of music. Classic or techno, it doesn't matter, this speaker performs (and I haven't even runned them in yet!). Eventually I was gonna buy a speaker with loads of bass (like Cerwin Vega) but in the end I desided to spend twice as much money, and get more of an allround speaker.

Strengths:
Overall sound quality, bass, midrange, easy to drive, looks.

Weaknesses:
Price maybe.

Similar Products Used:
Jamo 7.7, Cerwin Vega LS-15, B&O BeoLab 4000

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $2000.00 from KT-radio (Denmark)

Summary:
I bought the speakers because I got them recomended from an audiofreak friend of mine, and I had a little ekstra cash to spend. My amp. is a Rotel pre/power solution, and I thought my previous speakers didn't provide the sound I knew the Amp. was capable of... and it proved to be correct. The speakers need to be played for about a week before max. sound quality is achieved. Delivered with premade holes for spikes and of course 8 pce spikes. I use the speakers for audio and home cinema and I think the degree of bass is perfect for both - not so powerfull to make the whole room tremble, but just right to get the feeling of jet-fighters passing the screen and still maintaining precision. If you want the earthquake feel you should add a subwoofer. When I put on some of my old CD's I hear more and more details that I haven't heard before.

I would recommend these speakers to the man who wants crisp clear music with detail all the range, but not to the party freak who only wants to impress his friends with how many dB of rock he can produce (not that they can't produce a lot of dB's, but I think it is a shame to use these babies for such things - he might as well have bought himself a pair of Cerwin Vega)

Pick them up at your audio-store and borrow them for a week (or week-end) and take out your older CD's in order to hear the difference. The speakers can't remove impurities in the original recording, so if you put on a Muddy Waters recording from before I was born - you will still hear the bad noise from the recording - instead try something from 1985 and up.

I don't think I could get better speakers for the money, but then again they might be somewhat more expensive where you live.

Happy listening,

Frank

Strengths:
Tri-amping, Music detail, Price (in denmark), upgrade solutions.

Weaknesses:
Price outside denmark. Otherwise none I could find.

Similar Products Used:
Several low class speakers (can't be compared). Listened to some B&W speakers at a friends house but think mine is better - so does he.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
