Review 1 of 12

Price Paid:  $500.00 from used

Summary:
Are these speakers good value for the money $1000? You bet! But are these the best speakers for $1000? Well, this is very subjective matter, depending on personal experiences and tastes. To me, they are not the best as I’ve listened to some better ones in this price range. Omega is one of them but they are equipped with full-range drivers. Comparing them would be to compare apple and orange. By all means, if Audes are mated with the right (warmer) system, they are indeed “Bang for the Bucks”. Try them with Odyssey Stratos, for example, and you would be stuck on the sofa for a long period of time.
Let's get more into the sound quality. The bass response is obviously on the top. It wasn't boomy at all but deep and definitely floor shaking. The treble can be quite bright in some systems; if saxophone is your favorite instrument, try a warmer interconnects (definitely not silver ones). By comparison other speakers in the same league, Audes are similar to Mission's 782 but harder to please if your amp is not powerful enough. I've also compared side by side with B&W 603, the different is like day and night but I preferred the Audes for its pure & uncolored midrange.

These speakers are not available on the market anymore, but if you can find a used ones for under $500, buy it and you will love them.

Strengths:
Good looking, very heavy, bass is immeasurably deep, separation is right, good for instrumental music especially percussions and jazz, reasonably priced.

Weaknesses:
Need load of power to drive, can be quite bright in some systems.

Similar Products Used:
Lot of them, B&W, Mission, JM, Rega, Rogers, Audes

Review 2 of 12

Price Paid:  $0.00 from $750

Summary:
I must admit that first out from the box, besides its beautifully finished in grey, solid imaging and approximately 75 kg both, these speakers did not impress me at all. I have tried several placements every where my room with out success. They sound dull and dark and rather too laud without detailed of music, no matter what I play. So I tried to open its cabinet to see what inside, immediately I was surprised how Audes retails them for only $1000 because the drivers are made of very high quality parts, solidly built and heavy. My instinct kept telling me to wait for the right moment, fully breaking in. Two weeks have passed, they sound a little bit softer and smoother than before. A month later, I tried experimenting with new speaker cables; got a pair bi-wired good deal with SonicLink, and tried them on the sparkers; the result was remarkable, smooth mids, height in detail, tight bass and fluid-like music sound. With American root jazz music I threw at them, these speakers have impressed me greatly. In comparison to my previously owned B&W 602, these speakers are no doubt surpassing the sound quality of the 602 easily. However, I don't think these speakers are designed for pop music, boy-chic bands; they are designed truly for audiophiles who love wonderful details in music not the bass-craze or loudness-like pub music. I have no wonder why many previously reviews posted some negatives on these excellent speakers. For me, I can live with Audes 035 for my main speakers and I don't think there are any things out there within the price range US$1500 would justify my thirst to replace them. Thank you Audes people for making these wonderful speakers.

Strengths:
Bi-wired enabled, beautifully finished, high quality drivers and crossovers, heavy. With right cables and fully breaking in, these speakers sounds beautiful, clear detailed, articulate, and sophisticated.

Weaknesses:
Audes needs to put more advertisement on its products to be well-known in this market, Break in takes about 1 month, can't move them easily.

Mission 781, B&W 602, Monitor Audio S5, QUAD 11L

Price Paid:  $400.00 from jeffs sound values

Summary:
These speakers are a steal for anyone that wants great sound
for a minimal price. The differnce from out of the box sound to 50 hours of break in is dramatic. These speakers went from forward and bright to warm and laid back. At 66 lbs. apiece, they are solid. with the right stuff, they make music.

Strengths:
tight controlled bass, nice balance overall

Weaknesses:
none for price

Review 4 of 12

Summary:
i won these at auction on e-bay they are the audes15. they were ridiculously low cost 155$. i am amazed at them they have tremendous base all the way down to 35 hz. the dome midrange is the smoothest i have ever heard. and yes they are built in a former satellite of communst russia,in one of the factories where they built all the electronics and guidance systems for the mig 29 fighter jet. and it is supposed to br better yhan the f-16. i am sure glad they are building speakers now. anyone who negatively rates these speakers is having buyers remorse or did not properly burn these speakers in for at least 72 hours or they are stupidand would not know a high quality speaker if they hears one.

Strengths:
imaging, sound stage, tonal balance, fit and finish is supberb excellent towers in every aspect.

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
nht, wharfedale saphires-87,infinity towers rs-5,ultimate towers ttr-12,audes 105.

Review 5 of 12

Summary:
I posted a pretty harsh critique of the 025s a couple of months back. While my overall review of the particular product I bought online (025s) remain negative, after having purchased Audes flagship tower speakers (Blues), I realize that my overall critique of the entire Audes line up was unfair.

I purchased my 025s from Ubid.com which had aweful customer service and had apparently sold me defective product. Because Ubid.com would not stand behind its sale, Audes USA stepped in and agreed to not help me recoup my losses, but also make me a believer in its products.

I purchased the Audes Blues speakers and listened to the speakers with a critical ear. I had been displeased with 025s and I was in the mindset to find anything wrong with the Blues. To my surprise, the Audes far exceeded my expectations. First of all, the Blue has the best styling I have ever seen. They are tall and slim with a black sheen, with side mount in beautifully hand crafted red wood. I felt embarrassed because the craftsmanship on these speakers is nicer than any piece of furniture I have in my house.

What was more compelling was the sound quality. I didn't think that speakers so thin could create so much bass! Most compelling is its ability to recreate human voices. These speakers make artists sound like they are in the room 5 feet away. I also noticed that instrument reproduction was equally compelling. Every pluck of a guitar string was poingant and distinct.

I tried various kinds of music from classical to jazz to R&B. The speakers seemed to understand how to capture the appropriate emotions of each track.

Many of my friends have purchased speakers at price points which are multiples at the retail price on these speakers ($1,000 a pair). They do not look or perform nearly as well.

Strengths:
Beautiful fit and finish
Sexy Styling
Tight controlled bass reflex
Increadible life like human voice reproduction
