Strength:

Adequate bass for the above stated needs.

Weakness:

None noted.

I bought the XA3001 to add bass to a small Sharper Image stereo(recommended by them for this stereo, and definately a necessity in my opinion) in the bedroom. I haven't really put this speaker to the test, the stereo is usually used at relatively low listening levels(the sub level at about 1/2). But for this purpose, it does a very good job of completing a more wholesome sound. Again, I wasn't looking for the absolute best sound that I could find(I only paid $2.51+ ship), just something small for the bedroom.

Ive been looking for a cheap subwoofer that I can use for both on my PC and Television, and I found Altec Lansing XA3001 a powered subwoofer that doesn’t need anything more to attach like amps and equalizers. Had a good deal from computergeeks.com for $14.95 using coupon code “GEEK3001” gives you automatic $5 discount! Heres the link http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=XA3001-SK
