Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $500.00

Summary:
I bought the 3M's to replace a pair of Sound Dynamics (I just forgot what model but they are pretty huge) and so far they have been pure pleasure. My old speakers were lacking in the midrange, something the 3M's have in abundance.
The words 'sweet' and 'elegant' is a good description of these speakers. The treble is among the best I've heard. The bass is very dry but also potentially seismic, something that surprised me in a pair of speakers that small.
I have compared them to a pair of mission speakers in the same price range thought some years older (Forgot the model, sorry) and the 3M's were noticeably more pleasing in all respects.
The speakers are 'entry' level, and I guess that is a fair rating. Very good 'bang for the buck'.
I can recommend them to anyone with a varied taste in music who want's it all, but not at any price.
I use them with a pair of NAD 3155 amplifiers, one for each speaker and a Cambridge Audio D300 CD-Player.

Strengths:
The ability to render faithfully at very low level and all the way up.

Weaknesses:
The visual design is OK but no more.

Similar Products Used:
Mission, Sound Dynamics (Not similar at all)

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
