Bottom Line:

These beauty's acustik-lab bolero grande limited edition are BY FAR the BEST speakers I have yet heard in my 48 years.

The best FOCAL tweeter(same used in WILSON WATT PAPY'S) blends beautifully with the legendary dome mid and unique SL bass driver.

The sonic presentation of a TRULY ATRACTIVE speaker transcends that of ALL passives I have yet heard

Don't skimp on pre, source, cabling or recording quality as ANY weakness is ruthlessly LAID BARE.

Brutally priced but the performance easily justifies it.

A TRUE MASTERPIECE YOU MUST HEAR AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFE.

CIRCA 1995>>>>> back then, jm lab sell much less costing speakers, but they didn't head real HIGH-END appiriance...

Bottom Line:

I am an acoustic music lover, especially classical music and also some pop ,rock jazz and folk music.
acustic lab bg associated with high quality electronics bring exactly the same feeling and emotion than those experienced during live concert . Those speakers upgrade almost indefinitely ( read get always more closer to live music) with the upgrade of the other elements of your gear. Mine consists of CD Audio Aero Capitole as source, the Leben RS 28CX as preamp , the Leben CS 660P as amplifier and Cardas Golden Cross as speaker and interconnect cables. I have listen to many other prestigious speakers as B&W 801, 800D and Signature Diamond, Avalons, Focus Audio FP90 and Master 3, and none of them sounded to my ears as the music I hear during live concert .The new model stella are sounding more bright than the bolero but with less body.
Associated with the right gear the bolero's give you an ample sound with a sense of presence as “you are there”, with a natural wide and deep soundstage, plenty of air around the musicians and the ambiance of the concert hall where they are playing. The timbres of the intruments and the voices are increadibly realist. They are rich and diversified and have a rich inner texture as in real live concert. The mids, the highs and the bass are fully integrated and gives you this sensation of coherene and fullness. The bass are profound and are really singing. The acustik-labs can also rock and make you want to dance. The music coming from those speakers are washing you over with beauty and emotion.
