Price Paid:  $50.00 from salvation army

Summary:
ha, this is some crazy stuff.
I saw these at the salvation army and had the same reaction as most of you, 'what's this brand'??? I thought I'd give them a try since salvo takes stuff back. But I think I'm going to keep them!

I know they're not going to satisfy you audiophiles, and I think that's the situation here with the polarity between the glowing and the negative reviews- for those of us that haven't used top end stuff before, these aren't so bad! Yes, I was waiting for the pops and blow too, and I don't know what's going to happen in the future, especially if I upgrade my receiver, but these sound pretty good for $50.
word!

Strengths:
umm, we'll see...
so far, they sound pretty damn good for $50.

Weaknesses:
uncertainty with this scam buisness...
could it be that the company is just way over-pricing $100 dollar speakers?
but, then again, this whole van buisness is insane. I would love to meet the guy who came up with that one!

Price Paid:  $71.00 from red van

Summary:
same story, two guys in a red van this time. "suppliers delivered too many". came in to my store. They had six left and did not want to take them back. well have people like this about two times a month selling something.they try to sell them to me and I laughed. then they came back in and wanted to trade for a paintgun being a salesman myself "let the fun and BS start lol" well they left with a pump gun 200 balls and a cheep mask. from what i,mm reading here thats all they were worth, maybe a little more but not much with no support. well mine have worked good for the last 5 years and i have pushed them hard the top end dose have some holes in it but the lows are very good they make a good surround speaker as thats what they are for me now but stuido "not" this pair has a clean sound good for watching movies. they are the back pair. oh and my cost 71 bucks worth of stuff my cost.

Strengths:
like all cheep things if you can get a good set? seems some are and some are not. I'mm one of the few people that can hear up to 28000Hz and they sound ok but thats all. I have a old set of pioneer cs-33 that sound as good and they were made 68 if you can get them cheep ok but never give a travling salesman his asking price. and like so many have said on this Beware!!! but they do look good.

Weaknesses:
cost they are not worth 200 I can make better for that much. if you can get them for $100 a pair or less ok and try them first or dont buy

Similar Products Used:
pioneer, kenwood and more and they are not that big. My CS-V9920 are a lot bigger and I have two MB-2 in my living room. Now thats big for this small room!

Review 4 of 84

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Welp, i found mine on the sidewalk 2 doors down (in SF people put out stuff they don't want for the taking). Exactly what I've always wanted - 2 great big Black Sabbath crankin speakers. And I was coming from buying 2 old Celestion Dittons off some dude for $20. Go figure. Recognized the make from the cheesy nobs. Remember the dudes in the vans from high school. Well, I hooked these up and they did just what I hoped - they friggin cranked. Had them hooked up to my (late 80's) Onkyo, and they sounded alright. It's a clear receiver so it was nice. But then i hooked them back up to my (i think mid 80's) JVC (210 watt), and these things just pump. Get ya right in the stomach and chest. Room shakes. Flat shakes. No, not audiophile quality (gimme a break), but worth a good $150 or so for cranking whatever you wanna crank.

Strengths:
They pump. They pump loud. Hold up under beatings from what others have written. If you buy them for $100 or so - a friggin deal.

Weaknesses:
That they don't just sell them for $150 instead of trying to con people.

Similar Products Used:
Nuthin similar. Got some Celestion Ditton 100's which are amazing even tho 25 years old.

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Found on sidewalk

Summary:
This is a trip. Got out of my car holding 2 Celestion Dittons i got for $20 bucks,(they're about 25 years old, and literally turn my pal's heads when they do their thing,) and there were 2 great big Black Sabbath crankin things sitting on the sidewalk. Nobody movin out, no doors open - MINE!! (people in SF put out stuff they don't want for others to snag.) Couldn't believe my eyes. Ran 'em upstairs, hooked em up to my JVC nothing special receiver, and they friggin cranked. Shook my place. I was thrilled. Based just slammed. Put my Celestions on top, and the highs and mids are stellar. These things are great for cranking, parties etc. If you see these guys, offer them $150 and grab them. Scam or not, they're worth that much easy. IF YOU ARE JOE FRIGGIN AUDIOPHILE, AND THINK YOU ARE SO SMART, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

Strengths:
Heavy solid cabinets. Slammin, punchin base. Killer for rock. And mine were free ;).

Weaknesses:
The fact they don't just sell these $150 or $200 outright. I would.

Similar Products Used:
None, just bookshelf.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....
