Summary:
Review of Loudspeaker JBL TI 1000:
I bought them a year ago, when the price fell from DM 4500 (around 2700$) to a third of it. It is quite obvious that it is hard to find a comparable loudspeaker for this price.
Anyway - let´s talk about the characteristics: First I was quite surprised about the low frequency-capabilties. I was impressed by the details it delivers and also by the lack of artificial "body" when you listen to male speakers.
On the other hand this speaker shows, why an (maybe) artificially "smoothed" sound makes Hifi-life easier.
Use the JBL TI1000 with a smooth, natural amplifier and listen to well recorded CDs, then you will love them.
Use marginally harsh sounding electronics or CDs, and you will hate them.
Listen to CDs with a slight bias to higher frequencies, then things seem to be just to small and far away.
In one word - they are merciless. Agood buy if you are willing to ust the adequate electronics, otherwise not....

Summary:
I would like to say that I am not a great writter, but this is a speaker that anyone that is considering purchasing a pair of speaker in the $3000 to $5000. ranger should listen to in there own home. Dzurko Acoustics is a division of ACI which builds the famous Titan powered subwoofer, of which I have also personily owned and would give it a 5 out of 5 for performance for dollar.
The Shadow are a two piece speaker with the mids and tweeter in the top unit and two 10" bass divers driven by the Titan 250 watt amp in the bottem.
The finish is a cherry wood lacqure which is nicely done, althought not are nice as the ProAc stidio 150 I had.
The speaker weight about 180 lbs. per side. They come with there own spikes to level and decouple them from the floor.
The shadow like the titan took a long time to break in, more then 100 hours, but once they were, the Shadow's really sang. The highs are liquid, mids open with great detail. The bass is very fast with oustanding detail and VERY deep.
They work very well in my room with out them having to be so far off the wall like the ProAcs.
Mike Dzruko is a real gentlemen to deal with, the service from ACI is outstanding, which is becoming more rare these days.
My Rating:
Service 5+
sound 4.5
finish 4
value 5+ if there was a 10 rating they would get it for value
intergating with the room 4

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
