I purchases a new pair of AAD C800i speakers in 2006 and were the best speakers I had ever owned to that date. The C800i are efficient and powerful with an excellent bass definition, clarity and soundstaging depth, that allowed me to distinguish the distinctive, individual bass sounds of different bass players. The tweeters are very clean, clear and precise, if a little annoyingly peaky at very sharp, high frequencies. The only major problem for me was the scooped midrange, where, despite all the mid frequencies being accurately produced, were lacking presence and volume in equal measure to the bass and high range frequencies. The receding mids meant the bass and treble were unnaturally prominent, causing a lack of warmth and richness in the overall presentation. I hope to correct this problem redesigning the crossovers and allow the mids the equal prominence needed, for what should be a great overall sound.
