Strength:

Frequency resonse, grill cloth magnet retention system and overall quality built. Slim unobtrusive design. Reasonable price.

Weakness:

Too light grill cloth vs black cabnet and gaudy speaker dispay...I am nitpicking.

I received the product by mail and replaced my Bose center channel with it. I was pleased to hear a definite increase in vocal clarity. My set is a "hodge podge" of components, but the Yamaha seemed to fit right in. It needed a slight boost on the speaker configuration; other than that, I was pleased. I am a proponent of inconspicuous speakers and liked the cabinent, but did not like the light colored grill cloth, which I have blackened. The speaker display has a "look at me" presentation when the grill is removed, and not the pure functional look I prefer. Otherwise, a very solid unit for the money. I run the center channel through it's own dedicated sub, and set the center to large so I donot expect much midbass from the unit. It is discrete and slim and I am very pleased. Well done Yamaha.
