$220.00 Summary: no problems here.after months of debate,i decided on the mc,to match my c-8's.this center is smooth, used with my harmon kardon avr 100,and dvp-ns400d.i hated my ec100,i thought it had beautiful sound effects, but terrible dialog.im talking turn it up stupid load to here a soft passage, ridiculous.anyways that problem is history with the mc.i recommend. ps. im being reasonable with my rating. Strengths: punch, overall sweet sound Weaknesses: none so far. Similar Products Used: energy ec100

from Frank Prowse HiFi Summary: This is the third centre channel speaker I have owned. Admittedly, my ears are biased toward the european speakers with strength in the mid range, but I was very impressed by how dynamic this speaker could be! The first time I heard by itself, I honestly thought there was a small sub-woofer running somewhere in the room!
A word of warning to those who like cranking things up loud, it does sound harsh when it's really being pushed. But for my listening levels, it's perfect, I couldn't have snagged a better speaker for the small $'s I paid. Weaknesses: Compression at high volumes Similar Products Used: Aaron, Energy

Review 5 of 6 Summary: Done very well being the "center speaker". There are two theories for HT : 1. choose the best speakers for a HT speaker system 2. matching speakers preferably from the same manufacturer. I strongly recommend to go for (2). I tried using this speaker with Tannoy R2, Mission 601 rear, couldnt match, sound even worst. Actually the center channel is the most important factor for a HT system; most of the presentation of a movie comes from center channel. Since my best choice for main speaker and rear are M4 and M2, the best accompany surely be this MC. Always remember, every different speaker system (diafragm, magnet, coil, diameter, materials etc) will reproduce a different frequencies response along the sound spectrum, usually given with average +- 2 to 3db when reading from the spec. Thus, best if to reproduce an aeroplane flying from left to center to right..to rear right..rear left, use the same "throat" to "speak". If not, the sound of the plane may distorted like 747 to 737 to 747 or others but from the screne, the same 747! Best if all the speakers are the same : all M4 or all M2, but in many listening room, very difficult. MC at least give the best solution, by very similar frequency response, sensitivity, tonal balance. Well done, Tannoy. Strengths: Dialogue, dynamic, tonal balance Weaknesses: ....mm....
