Like the rest of the range, the Coda 80 2-way bass reflex centre channel features KEF's superb new 25mm (1”) metal dome tweeter, flanked by a pair of powerful 100mm (4”) bass/midrange drivers. Smooth, warm and natural sounding, it creates the main focus of the sound image, pinpointing on screen dialogue with tremendous clarity.
I had a Polk CS175i center channel that was part of my original homegrown surround system. Even though the CS175i performed OK as part of the whole system, it seemed too inefficient. It was the weak link.
I've been a Kef fan for over 20 years and was looking to try an inexpensive center channel. I found the Coda 80 online and am certainly more pleased with this speaker. Its specs are better than the Polks and its actual sonic performance is better too. It's more efficient, its highs are more dynamic but not artificial and its bass is admirable for a budget center channel.
The Coda 80 is actually set up for bi-wiring which I have done to get the most out of it.
to complete my system i needed a realy
good center but my bujdet was short
i heard the jbl ec25ch tannoy m6 energy
xlc-100 etc. when i first heard the KEF CODA 80 i was stunned. what awarm close rich clean natural sound it produced
i compared it simultaniously to the KEF cresta 20c & to Q6 belive me thE coda 80 was
on the top even that she cost less than half than the the new Q.it provides 50hz-27khz & 92 db excellent specifiacations for this range of price. now i know that it consider as old seria & that what gives the nice deal. one thing i know: believe what you hear & not what you have been told
