Review 2 of 20

Price Paid:  $245.00 from eBay

Summary:
I was looking to make the transition from traditional stereo listening to a more current 7.1 HT set-up. Not willing to part with my RS 5001 towers, I was very concerned with this center channel's timbre matching. My research included e-mails to and from Infinity (Harman Audio) who knew exactly what I was talking about. The Interlude series was a perfect match b/c the CMMD drivers go well with my Emit ribbon tweeters. This center is substantial in both size and sound. Much better than the smaller IL-25c or Alpha.

Strengths:
Sound Match with older RS series Infinity speakers Build quality Infinity product support

Weaknesses:
Size can be an issue when trying to fit it into an entertainment center or stand.

Similar Products Used:
Infinity RS 5001 tower speakers Polk RC 85i in-walls (they don't match for music, but for HT its fine) Infinity IL-120 sub Denon 1082 (clone to the 3802)

Review 3 of 20

Price Paid:  $230.00 from ebay

Summary:
Ive owned the 36 for about 8 months now and for the most part, I've been very pleased, although, lately, it seems as though on some movies (and I cant tell if its just me)it sounds as though it's a bit bassy if you will. For example, when there is dialouge,I cant here the s's and the voices sound so midrangey and hollow if that makes since. It's hard to describe what Im trying to say I know, but if anyone is experiencing this problem, please email me with any advice you may have. Other than that, Im very happy with all my Interlude series speakers.IL40's-fronts,36-center,IL10's-rears,and Klipsch RS3.II-sides Denon-3802 7.1 set up with IL-120 sub.

Strengths:
CMMD tech seems to be very durable and long lasting but has a significant break in period. Any suggestions are welcomed!

Weaknesses:
Seems hollow, midrange seems to overpower the hi's at times in turn making dialouge hard to understand.

Review 4 of 20

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
well--after living with it for 3 months--heres my opinion--superb on movies but definitly NOT for music alone--when you switch the 36 in on music the music is hollow sounding--try it--youll see--but i bet this happens on all centers--its a center for movies--not music--and its superb on movies--does what its supposed to do--a center channel for movies-switch to stereo when listening to music

Strengths:
all

Weaknesses:
NOT for music only--a minor quibble

Review 5 of 20

Price Paid:  $360.00 from ebay-new--onyx

Summary:
i own the old(1989) infinity rs5000--3 way-10 in woofer--3 in mid and the superb emit tweeter-with the il100s sub--also a good blend-was using the cc1--didnt cut it--too bright--listened to the il25--didnt cut it--didnt blend well--borrowed the 36--bought it--no hesitation--blends well with older infinity models--perfect match for older owners of infinity speakers with EMITs- and there are many of us-so if you own the older models dont hesitate--ive been an infinity owner since the old 1975 monitor jrs--cant beat the emit sound-the emit blends well with the ccmd tweeter-or buying this center to match them in sound--enjoy-ps the ccmd tweeter sounds on its own compared to the emit a bit too soft--or dull as you will--certainly NOT the emit delicasy and openness as tweeters go--the EMIT was the best damn tweeter ever! bar none!

Strengths:
perfect match for the older infinity models with the EMIT

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
cc1- il25c-klh--lol a joke

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
