Strength:

Sound Looks Price

Weakness:

To cheap to give me the feeling of high end....but just trust your own ears.

Works perfect even if I have huge Kappa 9.2i frontspeakers and 620 watts per channel to drive them. Just set the center on "small" in the receiver set up and this low cost center speaker will deliver plenty of high quality sound for both music and movies at really high SPL. I tried to replace it with a lot more expensive one, but had to return it because the Infinity Delta center speaker were so much better in both clearity of voices and the ability to handle a lot of power.(Yamaha DSP AZ-2 130 watts per channel) I belive its almost to good to be true. I would gladly spend 5 times more, but I dont think there is much to gain so I am saving my money for something else.

Strength:

Very very good vocals, seemless presence with the Delta 60''s. Awesome sound stage!

Weakness:

Grill fabric is extremely easy to damage, especially on the corners (i.e.sharper edges).

It has taken quite awhile to scrape up a HT system composed of Infinity Delta series (this late in the game...these are 1998-1999 introductions) BUT it has been more than worth the effort. They are the most easy to listen to group of speakers I''ve ever heard that won''t break the bank, if you can find them!! Vocals are clear and very natural. Every nuance of the voice is perfectly reproduced. These are quite musical and elegantly designed. My only complaint is I can''t find them any more. The vast majority of those who own them aren''t willing to part with them (myself included). That says more for this speaker line than any review!!

This is an excellent center Channel speaker. The center channels primary job is making conversation sound clear and it does that.

Strength:

Great Sound, No problem with shielding

Weakness:

None

Because I'm lazy, I'm going to include this summary for all my recently acquired components and give each component its own individual grade.

My system:
Receiver: Yamaha HTR 5150 (part for part same as RX-595A)
DVD/CD: Toshiba 2109
Main: Infinity Delta 40s
Center: Infinity Delta Center
Surround: Infinity Delta 30s

My listening room is approximately 25' x 22'.

The receiver is everything I need in a 'cheap' receiver. I found it at onesale.com for $405 shipped to my door and 1 year free financing. It is the cheapest receiver that I've found that includes decoders for Dolby Digital and DTS. It also includes inputs for 5.1 channels in case they come out with a new format in the future. The sound is very crisp and clean (like most Yamahas) and it has switchable speaker impedence out so that it can handle my 6 ohms speakers (I haven't found any other receivers in this price range that are switchable). All in all I highly recommend this receiver.

The DVD/CD player is alright. It has what I needed (component video out and digital sound out) and was very reasonably priced at $230 to my door and 5 free DVDs and 13 free rentals. The picture is crisp and the sound is awesome. I don't really believe in spending a lot of money on DVD/CD players, digital sound is digital sound. I trust the name Toshiba in the DVD world, as they invented it.

My main speakers, the Infinity Delta 40s, create an excellent sound. Great bass and great high ranges. The cabinets also exactly match the Toshiba 61" big screen I have. These 3-way, 6 ohms speakers really live up to the Infinity name. My only problem has been with poor quality recordings. I have one Christmas CD that I tried playing and you could tell that the CD was burnt off of a master album because you could hear every crack in the needle. The receiver/speaker combination almost recreates the sound too well in these instances. High quality recordings are no problem. I picked the pair up for $330 delivered at egghead.com. Not bad for $1360 original retail speakers.

My center speaker, the Infinity Delta Center, matches voice with the Delta 40s perfectly. The 5 1/4" woofers provide just enough kick and I can't say enough about the emit-r tweater. Another egghead.com steal at $130 delivered for this $550 speaker.

For surround I'm using the Infinity Delta 30s, probably overkill but I just couldn't pass up the egghead.com prices and this also prevented me from having wires hanging down the wall from the speakers. Putting the wires in the wall would have been quite expensive as I have 14' ceilings and a finished basement. As I use the speakers only for surround, I cannot really testify to their quality. They reproduce the effects very well and I am quite happy with them. They are 3-way 6 ohms speakers that originally retailed for $1100 and I got delivered for $340 (yes, more than I paid for the 40s) at egghead.com

Still need to pick up a subwoofer.

Strength:

It is very attractive.

It is a 6 ohms speaker and it sounds very clear and accurate. You could realy hear the voice seperated from the music. It you match 8 ohms front speakers with it, this center speaker will be too loud and you will need to adjust the center channel down to match the others. Of couse, the best is to match it with other delta speaker but I am still waiting for the delta 60 to be on sale at onsale.com. By the way, I only paid $106 for this center speaker from onsale.com, what a steal !!!! Onsale.com also have the Delta 40 in the express auction yesterday.

Strength:

Great sound, unique design, strong highs and mids, looks really cool.

Weakness:

none found yet

I got this center a little over a year ago and I must say I fell in love with it right away. The sound was incredible and it matched up perfectly with my Infinity Delta 60's and my Infinity QPS-1 surrounds. I added an Infinity BU-150 powered subwoofer and my system was perfect. I have never gotten to really crack up my system do to respect for the other people in my neighborhood but you dont really need to to fully appreciate the great sound and wonderful performance Infinity did with this line. I did notice that someone mentioned the max of 100 watts, I do not see this as a weakness. I own a Pioneer Elite THX Ultra certified amplifier that does 5 x 100. I cant ever see needing more power or volume then what this speaker can do. I am not saying the other guy was wrong, I am just stating that in my opinion anyone that is running more than 100 watts to the center channel by any significant margin should be spending a little more money on his speakers anyway.

Strength:

CLean, powerful sound

Weakness:

Poor shielding

I like others got mine at Onsale.com for about $120. Very good sounding, matched with (4) 6 ohm KEFs. Had to put vertically next to my tv as not to get magnetic interference. Not really what I had wanted to do. Still an excellent value.

Strength:

Very clear and concise. Great for dialogue. Distinctive look (see weaknesses.

Weakness:

Tweeter is not covered at all! It is there for all to see, wires and everything. Not good at shielding from TV.

Great speaker for under $200 on yahoo. My Hitachi 29 in. suffers from this speakers magnets. I will have to get an external degausser to fix my coloration problem. The manual talks about using the tv's built in degausser but this did not work on mine. I still love the sound but since my first center was home built, I cannot compare it to anything else.
