Strength:

Price. Certainly much of the market presents a far less useful product. It's been reliable.

Weakness:

Poor frequency response for reproducing voice. Try plugging the port with foam for slight improvement in clarity. Haven't bothered trying crossover modification, though might help.

Uninspiring; too often downright unintelligible. Soft spoken voices sound like mumbling and loud voices are too chesty.

Not a fan of the MTM format, though I realize this bucks the trend for center channel speakers. Other speakers in system far ouclassed CV. Might work well in some unusual rooms.

Another review implied this speaker doesn't need much power. I can't remember the sensitivity of the E76C, but to me it is not perceived as loud as a larger two-way main rated at w/ 90 dB sensitivity when compared side by side. So, I would disagree. Relative lack of high-mid culprit (for voice).

Strength:

Crystal clear sound, has unbelievable bass refles for a center and the price100$!!! You will not find speakers like CW anywhere. And only needing a minimum 25 watts to drive any CW speaker makes Cw a top notch setup for anyones budget!!!

Weakness:

Big as hell.

Unreal, big step up from the Klh garbage i was used to, I am using this with a set of E-710 fronts and E-705 rears, CLCS-12 sub and i couldnt be happier. This center is crisp, and very clear and i am very immpressed. I will and always recommend CW

Weakness:

Heavy

I bought this center channel at the sears sidewalk sale for half off. Paying only $100.00 and in need of a good strong center channel I couldnt resist. I'm a strong believer in matching signals so I feel the need to provide the same company spakers for my surrounds. Upon hooking up my new center channel to my reciever my listening changed forever. Since then I havent been able to even reach a high enough volume to blow these speakers.

Strength:

Clear vocals Balanced midrange Detailed sound Great drnamic range

Weakness:

Average looks

I also reviewed the very similar Cerwin Vega LS-6C and this speaker in my experience is identical. Timbre matches my other Cerwin Vega main speakers perfectly. Very nice speaker that does everything well and is not overpowering in any one area. For a center channel speaker, it has great dynamic range and great lower frequency extension. This means that the vocals sound clear and not muffeled. If you need to pick up a speaker to improve the clarity of the vocals when watching movies, this one is a good choice.

Strength:

Powerfull low end for a center channel, crisp highs and full midrange. Very good sensitivity making the most out of every watt of power you give it.

Weakness:

Sound is classic Cerwin Vega which can be a little pulpy in the midrange for some. I find it to be quite full and pleasing to me.

I have always been partial to the "sound" of Cerwin Vega. Powerful low end and crisp highs with a full midrange. The E-76C does not disappoint. Music comes alive and movies are powerfull. Dialog can be clearly heard, even during loud action sequences. I have researched and listened to many center channels, and this speaker is right up there with the other speakers in its class. It compares very well with the Polk Csi30. The Polk Csi40 will blow it away, but then again, it should because its a much more expensive model. All in all, if you can get a good deal on this speaker, don't pass it up. I recommend the E76C very highly. I actually use this speaker as my center back in my HT setup. I have the LS-6c(previous years model) as my center, LS12's as Fronts, Bose 201's as surrounds, and TWO Cerwin Vega LW15's as subwoffers. Yes, I said Two. I guess you could say I'm a bass freak. I've got a Pioneer Elite VSX 43tx and Pioneer DV-563A DVD Player to complete the package. The E76C works excellent as a center back, which in my HT is mounted vertically due to room configuration. By all means, give Cerwin Vega and the E76C a listen and you'll be happy you did.

Strength:

Loud, Deep, Crystal Clear. Too many to mention

Weakness:

None at all

I''ve had this center channel for over a year now. I bought it on clearance at Service Merchandise as they were closing their electronics department. I must admit that I have been a very happy customer. In my opinion, this center channel is one of the best in existence. I''ve owned center channels from Infinity, JBL, Klipsch, and I must honestly say the E76C easily outperforms all of them. They just don''t stand a chance against the E76C. The crystal clear, deep, and lound sound emitted from the speaker is outstanding. I could go on and on about that center channel, but take my word for it, it is simply one of the best out there. My home theatre includes a Yamaha RXV1200 receiver, two E76C center channels(front and rear), two sm105 by Infinity (Left and Right front) and two JBL decade series(Left and right surrround). I notice that I am the first individual to review this exceptional product, but rest assured that you will be in for a real treat once you make it a part of your home theatre.

I HAVE TRIED A NUMBER OF CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKERS.INFINITY,JBL,AR,CAMBRIDGE,JUST TO NAME A FEW,THIS SPEAKER HAS A BETTER BALANCE THAN ANY OF THE OTHERS,AND DIALOG IS MUCH BETTER DEFINED.THE LOW END IS OUTSTANDING AND HIGHS ARE VERY GOOD.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SPEAKER.AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE SIMILAR PRODUCTS USED SECTION I HAVE TRIED SOME SPEAKERS THAT COST A LOT MORE THAN THIS SPEAKER,SO DO NOT THINK THAT PAYING MORE ALWAYS GETS YOU A BETTER PRODUCT.
