Summary:
The MC200 provides crisp highs from its silk-dome tweeter. The highs are crisp without being harsh. I was somewhat dissapointed in their lack of "presence" however. Frequencies in the 300Hz-800Hz range were muddy and unimpressive. For instance, when playing Pop or Rock, the singer's voice seemed flat and instruments like toms and piano were almost lost in the mud. I'm considering upgrading to the MC500 as I hear they are considerably better. If I had it to do over again, I'd spend a little more and get the 500's. If you have an EQ, you can make the MC200 sound decent as a center channel, but it's definately not something to "write home about." Even after making several adjustments to my P1000 subwoofer's crossover frequency, and tweaking settings on my Yamaha RX-v800 receiver, I couldn't get the "full" sound I was looking for. Dissapointing....

Strengths:
Quality cabinet, excellent tweeter.

Weaknesses:
Speakers lack depth and presence. Tonal quality is average. These are not bad speakers if you're on a budget...but in that case, I have a cheap pair of KLH satellites + subwoofer that sound almost as good....and they came free with my old piece of junk Pioneer amp! :D

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
