Review 1 of 18

Price Paid:  $166.00 from eBay

Summary:
Well at last! These things are getting harder to find and I kept getting sniped out of some really high-priced deals at the last second, but vigilance finally paid off. These little guys are going for almost as much as they did new, and it's no wonder! Not only are they physically beautiful, but I have auditioned the LCR-6S3s and this little bitty thang blows the doors off it's bigger, younger cousin! My lord! What's going on here? Vocally perfect match with the DM600 S3s up front, the dialogue moves around seamlessly, with great clarity, depth, and an uncanny lifelike quality that sometimes makes me feel like I'm having some sort of "spell" or something - but it's GOOD! They are very sweet, and of course they are not gonna give you much in the way of bass - they were created for tight spaces like I have to work with, and I was finally able to divest myself of the 12-year old DCM CX Center, which acquitted itself well enough, but was not well-matched to the DM 600s and was starting to really annoy me (it would work well with JBLs for instance, but not the B&Ws). This thing is exquisite looking, exquisite sounding, and if they still made them I'd have had to pay around $300 for one now (they were $200 apiece, I think, when brand new). Whatever the price, they are everybody's fave all of a sudden and they are getting snapped up like free Rolexs.

Strengths:
Clean, clear, deep, accurate, smooth "voice", perfect match for smaller B&W or other more "restrained" or New England/Olde England speakers, and especially the DM600s. Gonna try 'em with a pair of the DM302s they were made to go with back in the day and see if it's better, worse, or the same. It's all good, though.

Weaknesses:
For anywhere under $200, if cosmetically perfect, there simply ARE no weaknesses, except, of course, bass. Use a good powered sub!

Review 2 of 18

Price Paid:  $80.00 from ebay

Summary:
Of course, I bought it second hand. But being in love with B&W I knew what to look for. I agree with most of you that this is a great performing Baby.. nice, sleek looking and enough power for a Audio enthousiast.. Can immagine that an Audiophile wants more... short on base, but compensated this with my left/right Using it with a DENON AVR 3800 reciever, and a DENON DVD player. Left and right are B&W speakers as well

Strengths:
Small, nice looks, inexpensive, B&W, value for money

Weaknesses:
Bass

Similar Products Used:
none

Review 4 of 18

Price Paid:  $100.00 from audioreview classifieds

Summary:
Amazing speaker for its size and price point. Dialog is clear and precise, open and airy. I really liked this speaker in Dolby 5.1 with lots of dialog. However, when bass is required directed from the center (try the beginning of the 3rd chapter of Mission Impossible 2 where the flamenco dancers move from the center to the surrounds), the speaker really shows its weakness. May work well with small left/right main speakers, but with my mid-sized speakers(B&W DM620i), the center was not up to the task.

I also did not particularly think it was strong enough to support Dolby Surround processed from cable TV... this is almost totally out of the center, and the lack of bass shows.

Compared to the DM600IFS, it produced much clearer and airy highs. For example in chapter 1 of MI2 when the pilot clicks the altitude down, every click is crystal clear, whereas with the DM600 IFS, I never knew the clicks were so prominent. The DM600 IFS bass though more than makes up for it. Hopefully I can compare to a cc6 soon.

Great value, but there are better centers out there.

Strengths:
Clarity

Weaknesses:
Lack of bass

B&W DM600IFS (precursor to the cc6)

Review 5 of 18

Price Paid:  $175.00 from De Eerste Kamer

Summary:
I love this center speaker. It can go loud, sounds clear and precise. Looks good also. You should match this one with two B&W305's and B&W302's. Your amp can route the bass <80Hz to your sub or front speakers so you won't notice it's weakness.

Strengths:
Clarity / detailed. Really good for voices.

Weaknesses:
For such a small speaker, it's obviously short of bass.
