Summary:
I recently sold my DCM KX212's and being that these were my surround speakers, I pulled them up front and matched them with a Kenwood SW-1 sub. The Yamaha's actually performed quite well with much better detail and sound clarity then the large DCM's I was previously using. Would suggest purchasing these if you didn't have a large budget, and not a very large room as the speakers lose the soundstage if spread very far apart. To sum it up, I paid $40 dollars for the pair and I don't think I'll be finding a better set of surround speakers that can sub as mains in a pinch for the price.

Summary:
Bought apair for $76. I made a comparison with its brother NSA-636 before purchasing this one. The NSA-636 sounds very-very bad, not musical at all but this one sounds very different (in a good way). Bass is not deep but well controlled. Highs isexcellent for this price with crisp and clear presention. Sounds bright at high volume. There's some hissing though. Midrange is alittle laid back and the speaker sound honking alittle bit (for some female vocals). Build is not as good as JBL but is OK. Will make a good surround speakers. Overall 4 stars for sound at this price.

Summary:
I got these for 60 bucks at ultimate electronics and they sound pretty good but the bass isn't as good as speakers with bigger woofers. If you listen to rap or metal these probably aren't the speakers to go with but classical or less bassy types of music are ok. The speakers i turned up half volume with my sony reciever with 100 watts x2 and they started making a cracking sound on the woofer. They also have a slight hiss. Overall these speakers are pretty good for the money. These speakers would be pretty good for surround speakers. But if you like the best sound for your money you should get some better speakers.

Summary:
These speakers are excelent. I am using these for my main speakers (connected to Kenwood VR-205 Reciver and Kenwood CD-223 200CD changer)and have no regrets.i bought these for $59 (Pair)at Best Buy and would of paid full price ($65 each) for the construction and sound quality. Like the other poster siad. They are made in USA not China (Like JBL and other big shot brands. They come with wire but is is not really good. For optimal sount use monster cable (I use XP) and monster cable clips.

Summary:
I'm no high end audiophile but I think that for the money you can't find a better pair of surround speakers than these. Right now I'm using them for the mains since I have to get my others reconed. They aren't bad but lack the low frequency bass that a sub could easily compensate for if one wanted to use them as a pair of mains. I compared them at the Good Guys to a variety of speakers in the same range...BA and Polk (R-1). They totally blew away the cheesy BAs with the full range speaker (totally unimpressive, didn't bother to get the model number), and the Polk R-1s. The NS-A527s have clear highs (maybe a tad bit bright) and pretty flat midrange (that is really relative to the listner) without tone adjustments. They do great for jazz and classical....some heavy guitar work sounds a bit fuzzy, I guess they are meant for low to mid volume levels. For twice the price, the Polk RT-15s were really great....decent bass and natural clarity. Then again who wants to spend a small fortune on surround speakers or mains for a low wattage receiver? A rating of 4 for the price, the quality of the speaker in terms of construction (made in the US!) and sound reproduction.
