Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Summary:
These are a very good bookshelf speaker, that is not only good looking, with a piano finish, but easy to drive and listen to.
I have been driving these speakers with a Trends T10.1, which delivers 10W a channel, and rarely have to crank the volume knob past a quarter of a turn to achieve good listening levels in a room 4 metres by 3.5 metres.
As noted in a previous review the speakers are not able to grind out deep bass, but this is not a problem in most situations, and overall they are able to produce a good rounded sound, that is not tiring to listen to with no shrills or edginess.
The build quality is very good, as are all the Yamaha products that I have seen, and represent excellent value.

Strengths:
Excellent value, good performance, easy to drive

Weaknesses:
None for a bookshelf speaker at this price

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $109.00 from inoax.com

Summary:
Superb and simply unbeatable in this price range! These speakers truly excel in all ranges but the very lowest bass points, which is what your sub is for anyway. Indeed, I recommend using these as either fronts or surrounds. The sound that comes out of these well built, solid speakers is smooth, crisp, and highly pleasing. Typically, one needs to delve into the likes of Tannoy or B&W to enjoy the type of performance that these wonderful Yammies provide. Wired internally with Monster cable and equiped with state-of-the art cone and tweeters, combined with an accoustically pleasing cabinent structure, this speakers truly amaze. Two thumbs up, way up!

Strengths:
Excellent value, wonderful sound, solid build, and great look.

Weaknesses:
None.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $129.00 from BestBuy On Sale!!

Summary:
The Yamaha NS-333 are very nice inexpensive surround speakers. Usually when i think of inexpensive i think poor quality, but with these speakers its simply not true. I just today compared my NS-333 with my friends brand new BOSE 201's and i'd have to say my NS-333 came out victorious. The bose didnt have as crips high's as the NS-333. And they were obviously louder that the bose 201's with much better sound quality. To be honest with you guys i think the bose are overpriced. They look like they are made of cheap materials and the woofers look like paper. The NS-333 are beatiful speakers im not sure what material the NS-333 are made of but it is obviously better than the bose. Take a look at them at www.yamaha.com their beautiful with a piano gloss finish. I originaly bought the yamaha NS-555's just because of how good they look. When i took them i home i noticed how much better they sounded compared to my previous speakers. I then decided to buy the NS-333's along with the NS-555 and the NS-444. It's a beautiful set of speakers.

Strengths:
Better than bose 201's thats for sure...and for half the price.

Weaknesses:
none i can think of.......hmm maybe if i were using them as main speakers bass would not be adequate.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....
