Price Paid:  $175.00 from Audio Video Creation

Summary:
I saw no one had reviewed this speaker yet, and I hate when I look up a product and there's nothing to read, so I'm going to throw in my opinion. I've been using the Alpha C as my center channel for over 2 years. Voices are very natural, and the sound character is very neutral overall. It's also pretty efficient, so you don't need a monster amp to drive it. It blends seemlessly with my Alpha B's (as it should, since it uses all the same components), but it has a higher efficiency rating, so it plays louder at the same volume, which in my opinion is right on for home theater. This is a great all around center for any entry level system. Side note- the smaller version of this center, the Alpha CLR, is disappointing- very inefficient, and small sounding (due to the small size, no doubt, but still unsatisfying). My full system is as follows: Denon AVR 1801 receiver Toshiba 32" TV 4:3 screen w/component v Toshiba SD2800 DVD player PSB Alpha B fronts PSB Alpha C center PSB Alpha Mini rears B&W ASW600 sub Radio Shack gold and AR Pro interconnects Radio Shack gold speaker wire

Strengths:
Great, neutral sound... easy to drive Excellent value

Weaknesses:
none at the price

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
