Price Paid:  $700.00 from Listeningpost

Summary:
I was after a small setup for a small room so was went for the castle richmond 3i. The dealer generously let me take them home to try out in my system (a positively tiny perreaux 25watt class A amp and NAD 542, Nordost blue heaven connectors and QED xtube cable) and said "if you don't like them bring them back" well that didn't happen. After being run in they really began to sing.

Properly setup with a bit of space they have the ability to disappear with an excellent soundstage. there's no real sub bass but they have a sound that punches way above their weight and go a lot louder than you'd expect, but in saying that these aren't the kind of speakers you'd use at a party. These are the kind of speaker that you'd take home to meet your mother.

They really are excellent value for money and they won't break the bank. The build quality is excellent with beautiful matching real wood veneers.

Strengths:
Superb build quality, beautiful real wood veneer. Punchy lively detailed sound. excellent small speaker for a small room.

Weaknesses:
No real sub bass, but it is a small speaker so what do you expect. if you matched it with a quality small sub like a rel quake then you'd be set.

Similar Products Used:
tested at the same time: paradigm mini monitor (lacks that certain something in comparison), paradigm studio 20 (amazingly good but twice the price), Proac Tablette (beautiful, but out of my price range and needs more power than I have)
