Strength:

open, clear, accurate sound. capable of playing loudly with little strain.

Weakness:

can be a little thin with poor amplification. not a forgiving speaker

what a long strange trip its been. when i first got this speaker i was blown away by its dynamics and open sound. however, my ears were ringing a bit and i realized that listener fatigue was happening. so, i got an outboard dac that helped matters significantly, but still experienced some residual fatigue. i thought that it must be the speakers because my amp was supposed to of above average quality. before jumping to audiophile anxiety i decided to try a tube amplifier, a modified jolida 102b to be exact and presto. things became so much more smooth and liquid, even more than the dac upgrade.
to describe the speakers now, they are open, articulate, capable of good dimensionality in a 3 dimensions. the tweeter is extended and the bass is accurate to @40hz. they are capable of wonderful dynamics and quick transients. bottom line, they are great if things upstream are great. if your source and especially your amplification are subpar then these speakers will not forgive you. i highly recommend them with that restriction applied, as it should be with any speaker of good accuracy. i think tubes are a better match here than solid state.
