The Bose series II is is a great bookshelf speaker. I had the III sereies and they did not sound as good as the II's. If properly powered and with proper location, they produce a vary balanced and intriguing sound. Bass is quite good if positioned against room surfaces correctly. Midrange is very good and the high end is excellent. These speakers are just fun to listen to.
