Strength:

I use this as jumper cables between the midrange horn and the bass unit on Avantgarde speakers. First thing I noticed was a lack of noise compared to the stock cable. Which shows good insulation from EFI, i.e. good shielding. The build quality of the cable is also good, even after the outer plastic was stripped. They actually look even better stripped down.

Weakness:

None for the price.

Strength:

Good bass if you like dance regga rock stomping! Airy and crisp clear mid highs good for vocals no music from classical to hard rock-dance sounded bad.

Weakness:

Hard to bend and fidly to terminate if you do it yourself! has slight larger than life sound at times. Not outrightly detailed as some.

QED genesis is very good indeed fast paced images well, strong bass, never sounded harsh, vocals sound very clear natural instruments sounded well placed I was happy with it till upgraded cost me a few quid though! but these have been nice and shall never be forgotten good value for money.

Strength:

Extremely revealing, detailed, open and transparent. Leaves very little of it's own signature. Dynamic, vibrant, energetic with excellent three dimensional soundstage. Exceptionaly good at low listening levels. Requires QED Air-Lock done by dealer with special QED tool set, ensuring proper setup.

Weakness:

Difficult to terminate due to massive efforts to properly prepare cable for termination. Difficult to install due to cable thickness. My dealer provided exemplary support in that regard.

Was using QED Silver Anniversary Bi-Wire and bought second hand Cardas Golden Hexlink 5C Bi-Wire which just didn't sound right. Switched back to original QED with good results. Then switched to QED Genesis Silver Spiral Bi-Wire 6 foot lengths with superb results. Used with Naim CD5/Flatcap2, YBA Integre DT Delta and B&W N805.

Strength:

Soundstage improves dramatically, more bass, treble, midrange. Produces a very good sound balance in my system.

Weakness:

Possibly sacrifices some detail in exchange for showing music in a more favourable light, although this makes it a very nice cable to listen to.

I have the bi-wire version of this cable which I chose over the X-Tube XT-400. This is a really good cable, bigger bass, more treble, more midrange. The overall sound is perhaps slightly softfocused, even rose-tinted, but even at £60 per metre I would say this is a very good value cable. Strength:

Great Sound, Highs are clearer, cleaner, more bass... Cables look great.

Weakness:

Price, not very flexible

Great Speaker Cables! The highs seem to be more clear and warm sounding, along with wider imaging. The bass is also tighter and a little deeper, mostly do in fact to the gauge of the cable. These cables are very very thick. I have the airlock, banana plugs on both ends. They form a very good grip with the binding posts on both my amp and speakers. I would recommend these cables to everyone!

Strength:

very detailed midrange..as with all QED cables ; big soundstage.

Weakness:

hmmm I have no idea..

MAGIC CABLE I was using QED Silver Anniversary. Now I got Genesis..The difference is unbelievable.I hear lots of new sounds. The sound changed completely!!.I just can''''t describe it.Especially at the high frequencies I had a revolution here!! This cable cost me 160$ for a 1,5x 2 meter run(single run..not bi-wire) but it is worth. Also it is a thick cable.

Strength:

Bright, lively with lots of energy. Good detail and controlled bass.

Weakness:

Minor lack of sound-staging.

I recently upgraded my system from an audilolab 8000S and 8000SX (bi-amped) to a Meridian 502 and 557 combo. This imporved the sound quality immensely, much better power, dynamics, detail and fantastic imagery. The only problem was that the system now lacked the 'sparkle' of my old audiolabs, I found myself wanting to flick over songs a lot and not really enjoying the sound as much as I used to. So, I replaced the existing speaker cable, (QED Quodos for the LF and DNM reson for the HF) with QED silver spiral bi-wire. This made an immediate improvement - the sound has so much more enegery and 'excitement' - I now find myself singing along to more songs and even listening to and enjoying songs I didn't like much before. It's the sort of difference you get when you turn a stereo up louder, the sound seems to flow out to you much more freely. The only downside seems to be that some of the fantastic sound-staging has gone but it's well worth the trade-off. Oh and it's not cheap at £60 a meter - it does look fantastic though.

I would certainly recommend it to owners of systems which are on the soft side - it may be too much for already bright systems.

Strength:

Clarity, speed, soundstage.

Weakness:

None in my room or system.

Wanted to upgrade from my QED Profile Silver 12 ( see review ) Tried Audioquest Slate and VDH d352hybrid. Others sounded ok but not a great improvement on what I had. Maybe more bass with the VDH which I didn't like. Hooked up the Genesis and it was instant results. Speed, clarity, depth and soundstage were massively better. Won't be changing this for a while!!

Strength:

Everything under control, detailed, build quality, really nice design.

Weakness:

No weaknesses at all. Yes one actually, doesn't make coffee in the morning.

This cable is very detailed and improves greatly the amount of information, awesome frequency control, layers are well-defined this is wonderful. The Qed is neutral, i understand also that neutrality can be somewhat confusing; it'll help finding where the weakness is in your system. This is the cable i think i will use as a reference from now.

I bought 5 meters for approximately $250.

Components:

Marantz PM17 and CD17mk2

Interconnect is Audioquest Ruby
--> maybe ill upgrade it to Qed silver spiral ic as well

Transparent power chords for amplifier and cd player
--> feature very powerful ferrite at both ends.

Speakers are Paradigm
--> cheap and crappy but it stills sounds ok actually, soon to be upgraded with Dynaudio.

Ceramic Cones
--> upside-down under Speakers, 3 each.

Stands
--> very simple and low-cost, empty metal tube basically but i filled them with sand, change was huge believe me, in the good way. Less fat!!
