Summary:
This product is perfect - IF you use it for its intended use. This unit is made for use while exercising. It was the only mp3 player I found while doing research that was really suitable for jogging with, which is why I went with this one. It sounds great and a 4-year old could figure out how to download and upload from the computer to the unit. Unlike most of the other Sony models, this one allows you to use mp3's. You don't have to convert into Sony's format.
Battery life will frustrate you if you're using it on a long trip; it only lasts about 4 hours. It takes one AA, so that doesn't bother me.
Another possible "weakness" is that you cannot expand the memory; it comes with 64MB and that's all you get. Still, that's a little over an hour of music, and that's plenty for a nice workout.
This unit has Sony's traditional megabass(two levels) and comes with decent in-ear headphones.
Now that they've been discontinued, you can get these babies dirt cheap if you can find them. Also check Sony's website for $50 rebate!

In the end, this is a must-buy if you want an mp3 for exercise. For anything else, though, you're better off with one of the newer, more exotic models.
