Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $19800.00 from Debenhams

Summary:
The panasonic is a very compacted little mp3 player, although from its good looks, it has its down points, nothing that you can't live with, it has no back light so in the dark you can't actualy see what song is play, it does take a bit of time to get used too and the software that it comes with is quite annoying although soon as you get the hang of it, it becomes no problem. The quality of the sound that is played is very good, as it uses a SD Card the songs never jump when running or being bumped about, it has a few other functions in which you are normaly told in the features part of the website! overal i do recommend this product although its quite expensive, in my advise wait for the shop sales in which it just mught be reduced to the price u want to pay :)

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Dixons

Summary:
28th Dec 2001

A really small, light and great sounding 'MP3' player. I say MP3 with reservation because like many other players you cannot just copy your MP3 files to the device (or in this case the memory card as there is no cable connector on the device itself) but have to struggle with a customised version RealJukebox to convert your songs to .SA1 format which is the only thing the player accepts.

RealJukebox is an evil piece of spyware (by default it will send all sorts of information back to Real about your system - eariler versions even uploaded the name of every multimedia file on your PC!!!) and it takes quite a few clicks to diable these 'features' if you can find where to.

Summary:
9/10 for the hardware and sound quality
1/10 for the supplied software and limitation meaning you cannot use anything else

Happy New Year everybody!
Matt

Strengths:
Small, light and great sound

Weaknesses:
Evil software and not playing native MP3 files

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
