Price Paid:  $240.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
If you are going to spend $250.00 on a mp3 player, ante up another $50.00 and buy Apple's iPod. You get 18 more gigs of storage than the igp-100(4000 more songs!) and it's so much more user friendly.

Strengths:
The only "strength" I can come up with for the iriver igp-100 (stupid name) is how quick the company replaced it after my hard drive crashed. Of course I returned the new unopened igp-100 (stupid name) to Best Buy in exchange for an iPod. SMART MOVE...

Weaknesses:
When the player worked, the use of "folders" is just confusing. It's a music player, not a office application. There are only four EQ settings, which is silly. The toggle swiches on either side of the player are clumsy and could be easily damaged if dropped. The player was near capacity at 450 songs, all ripped from CD's because it doesn't recognize purchased wma files.

Summary:
I bought the iriver igp 100 a week before x-mas and I just love it. the igp 100 is a really great digital audio player. it is firmware upgradeable and the headphones it comes with are really great. its a tinny player with 1.5 gigs of space. It supports MP3, WMA, ASF and Ogg Vorbis files. it comes with a really good protective case.

Strengths:
good headphones, great audio quality full range, suports different audio files, firmware upgradeable tiny, good protective case.

Weaknesses:
expensive for ammount of space but that pretty much it.
