Review 2 of 16

Summary:
i've had this cd player for about a month now and i must say it's great. i bought it for about $150 canadian tax included and it was one of the smartest buys i've ever made. i walked in and out of future shop knowing that this was the cd player for me. the flashing lights at the top of the player do get annoying but since the player is so good it evens everything out. the sound is nice and clear making music so enjoyable and the fact that it's a 5-disc cd changer makes it even better allowing you to listen to hours of music without leaving your seat. i still think the remote could have been better (eg) allowing you to select the disc # with a number pad or something. Even though there's a dozen other cd players that can kill this one the problem is that they're 2-3 times more expensive. so if you need to save some dough and you want a great cd player go for the rca rp-8065.

Strengths:
great price, light, great sound quality

Weaknesses:
nothing

Review 3 of 16

Summary:
This model is obviously built to a price. The case is plastic and it just does not have a high quality feel. However, CD's play as well on it as they do on anything else and in the end that is the most important thing. For $200 I would not be impressed, for $40 to $60, it is a screaming bargain in terms of high quality CD playback.

Strengths:
Extremely inexpensive (I have two, one was $60 and the second was $40), sounds as good as any other CD player I have ever listened to (I own Toshiba, Pioneer, and Mitsubishi component models).

Weaknesses:
Questionable reliability judging from the number available as factory refurbished. Will not play CDR/W's and PNY brand CDR's (the latter which play fine on everything else I've tried). A pity because PNY are the most inexpensive brand I've found of CDR's.

Similar Products Used:
Toshiba 2109DVD player, Pioneer 6-CD changer, Mitsubishi carousel changer.

Review 4 of 16

Summary:
I guess if your poor and only have like $5 at a garage sale. Then this CD player might be good. But even then it sucks. Don't make the same mistake I made, for $70 I could have bought a better used CD player unit, and still had money left over for something decent like a sandwich or a a good craftsmen hammer to break this this crappy RCA.
Don't buy it unless you plan on breaking it. It is a good one to break though.

Strengths:
Cheap

Weaknesses:
Speed of finding discs
Stupid flashing strobe (VFD) Very Faggy Display!
Can't shuffle songs
Slow
Crappy signal to noise ratio

Similar Products Used:
Nothing sucks as bad this thing

Summary:
For a casual listener, you cannot beat the RCA unit for both price and features. I purchased the unit at Best Buy for $89.00.

The unit has all the bells and whistles that most listeners will ever use and some which they won't...the unit also allows you to change discs without interrupting the current disc that is playing.

Obviously, this unit is not for the serious audiophile-but for most people, this unit delivers at an bargain basement price.

My rating is based within the category of player.

Strengths:
Price, Features

Weaknesses:
none

No, you can’t always get what you want. The number of loudspeakers surpassing the cost of a decent family sedan is staggering. Then there are speakers that cost as much as a house.
