Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $100.00 from The Wiz

Summary:
I am on my second unit of this product and it has recently failed me after roughly one year. My first unit lasted three weeks before it stopped playing discs. Fortunately, I was still in the 30 day return period so I got another one. If this product was more reliable, it would be a clear 5-starrer; the slim profile is really great, I can comfortably slip it into the front pockets of most of my pants.

Strengths:
slim profile, 40 sec anti shock

Weaknesses:
unreliable

Sony, Aiwa

Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $110.00

Summary:
Great player. I have the SL-SX469V, and it has been great so far. The 469V has a tuner, which is really quite good. I teamed it up with a $100 pair of Grado SR-80s and the sound is great. I only use the included headphones when I don't want to damage the Grados. Sound starts getting strained if I pump the amp, but that's getting to the level of hearing damage anyhow.

Strengths:
Nice clean sound, nice tuner.

Weaknesses:
Pre-set tone controls are useless. Tuner presets don't save your FM Reception City/Normal preference.

Review 4 of 7

Summary:
This is the only portable CD player one should even consider. As usual, Sony didn't make anything interesting (theirs doesn't take burned CDs).

The sound on the Panasonic is terrific. I didn't even try the included headphones : I have Sennheisers HD340, and the couple works great.

About the guy who plugs Sennheiser 580's in this player, you should really use an amp. The amp in any portable CD player will be quite wimpy when trying to drive such hi-end headphones.

I will put the best mark to this litthe thingy which puts so much emotion into mobile music. Plus, with two batteries, it lasts countless hours.

Strengths:
Cool sound, Small, Reliable, 40 sec memory, Unstoppable !

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
Sony crap

Review 5 of 7

Summary:
This CD player is the best I've ever had. Ever. It's better than a 250 buck Sony model I had a year and a half ago, that had comparable features. The design is incredible slim, and it's easily fittable into a pocket even. The blue colour on mine has elicited nothing but favorable comments.

The antishock is the best I've used, period. Sound is clear and uncluttered, but bass response could be improved. The EQ's suck. The extra bass is too muddled, and the extra treble is too tinny. The only other feature this player could use would be a lock on the open button to ensure the player stays closed.

Strengths:
Lightweight, slim, awesome antishock, very sharp looking.

Weaknesses:
Headphones sucked, and the preset EQ's sucked too.

Similar Products Used:
any other player in this price range
