Review 3 of 20

Price Paid:  $179.00 from Crutchfield

Summary:
This is a well engineered well designed portable CD Player. I am extremely impressed with how good the anti-shock works on this unit. I have done laps around my neighborhood while holding this player in my hand and swinging my arms and It refuses to skip, not even once. The style is nice looking, sleek, and button features are great. The water resistance is excellent. I got caught jogging in the rain and the player continued to play; it didn't seem to bother it a bit. Panasonic has won me over as far as portable CD players go. I use to only buy Sony but now I will stick with Panasonic. Incidently I bought a Sony and returned it the same day because it did not work. I felt nervous about getting another and bought the Panasonic. I am really glad the Sony didn't work because now I have a great portable. When I purchased the Sony my wife said, "It's made in Malaysia." Jokingly I said, "watch it not work." It didn't, now the Panasonic player says, "Made in Japan." It works great! I guess 0 defect really means something in Japan.

Strengths:
Anti-Shock is the best I have ever seen. Sony step down - Panasonic has got the house. This unit refuses to skip. Way to go Panasonic!

Weaknesses:
The headphones absolutely kill my ears. I had to replace them with a better comfortable pair. It feels like that instrument the Doctor sticks in your ear during a physical, ouch! Other then that this unit is perfect!

Review 4 of 20

Price Paid:  $109.00 from closeouts.com

Summary:
Excellent sound from this solidly built player. Would have loved a radio but, hey, at this price no beef. Great skip protection - I can't get it to skip no matter how hard I pound on this thing and I work out with it almost every day. Save your $$$ on the SONY trash (they just don't seem to care about this end of the market anymore - sorry guys - but they still make a helluva flat screen TV!

Strengths:
Excellent sount with outstanding bass. Great skip protection.

Weaknesses:
Headphones might require some getting used to - maybe.

Similar Products Used:
Every SONY and Panasonic known to man in the past twenty years.

Review 5 of 20

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Sight & Sound

Summary:
I really like this product, it is by far the best portable cd player I have ever owned... I use my "diskman" almost 24 hrs a day literaly... I sleep with it on, I listen to it in school, everywhere... I was biking with it one day, and it fell out of my coat pocket(bad pocket, not player) and while falling, i accidently kicked while pedaling, then it hit the pavement, and i ran it over... I went back to pick it up, and it was perfectly fine except for a few scratches...I love this cd player...BUT...

I hate the VMSS feature. To someone who doesnt know what REAL BASS RESONANCE is, it might be kinda cool, but for me, i just found it distracting and annoying...Also, the headphones were uncomfortable, and seemed "cheap" and "weak" compared to the rest of the player...Other than that, I Love It!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths:
Good sound quality, VERY durable(see below) well placed controls

Weaknesses:
VMSS feature, "Flimsy" headphones
