Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from sony store

Summary:
Nice design.

Strengths:
The unit can be set to wake you at whatever time you specify. You can wake up to a cd or the radio. Has remote control.

Weaknesses:
Very disappointed with the mega bass feature. This box has absolutely no boom to it.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $58.00 from Tweeter

Summary:
I found this floor item for $58 (from a retail of $80) and thought the unit was a very good value. Unfortunately the FM tuner was defective so I needed to return it. (Wouldn't receive some stations and blended many stations at once on one frequency!!) I'm disappointed to have to return it.
The unit was attractive to me due to its mature, slim, clean style. So many units today are designed with a gimicky appearance so teenagers will snap them up.
The unit had many features that you normally don't find in boomboxes at this price such as a remote control, CD and quasi-clock/radio. Would have been a good find if it wasn't defective.
One thing to note is that bass response is very weak. The overall sound is very shallow and just sounds loud as you turn up the volume. Other radios do much better but at a price premium due to the extra power requirements.
My ratings are not reflective of the defective FM unit...They assume a functional unit.

Strengths:
Clock radio features (clock, timer, wake-up), clean mature appearance, remote control, value,

Weaknesses:
Too many AA batteries (4) if just for memory retention; bass response is weak, shallow sound

Review 3 of 5

Summary:
I bought this unit at clearance price of $67 from Target store. The box was opened but other than that all was in tact. Sound is good, but I've heard better sounding JVCs. Although this radio is nearly 1/2 the size smaller than the JVCs. And for the price, it can't be beat. I use it for my office and I must say that it gets the job done right. My verdict is that for under $100, this is a good deal, go out and GET IT!

Strengths:
features, looks, compact siza

Weaknesses:
average bass response

Review 4 of 5

Summary:
SUPER FOR USE IN A SMALL OFFICE. A GREAT VALUE FOR THE $80.

Strengths:
COULD BE LABELED A FULL FEATURED CLOCK RADIO WITH REMOTE CONTROL.

Weaknesses:
MEGA BASS SHOULD BE CALLED "SOME BASE"

Review 5 of 5

Summary:
The look and the feel of this is great, but the bass isn't all that good. Dubbing from CD's and the radio is quick and easy though.
