Price Paid:  $250.00 from Rent One

Summary:
I've been looking for a boombox that, naturally, I can take on the go with me. During nice weather, I like to hang out along the beaches with some tunes. So, I researched the internet I came up with the JVC RV-NB1.

Having located the nearest rental store that deals with JVC, I rented this unit only for a week to try it out. Needless to say, this unit has massive bass; even the deepest the bass resonates. I liked the idea that the subwoofer level could be adjusted (most tracks that I tried, 80's & 90's classic rock and some dance, the level was set to four (4) (setting ranged from 1 to 6). However, I wished the mids and the highs were stronger (maybe an EQ would have been nice). That was really my biggest complaint.

This unit is great for people who enjoy the big boom sound (That's why it is called a boombox, right?) and who like a unit to be built with durability. The JVC RV-NB1 is built like a tank. Some users may find it heavy and bulky to transport. But, for $250.00, I think it is a great buy. I am on a limited budget, but may purchase it in the near future. Nice job JVC!

Strengths:
1) BIG sound - close your eyes and you would think you were listening to a full-
rack stereo system

2) Two separate active amplifiers

3) Durable construction (wow)

4) MP3 capability (a MAJOR plus)

5) Reasonably priced

Weaknesses:
1) The display is a bit small and sometimes hard to read (especially outside).

2) Mids and highs could have been stronger (I am really being critical).

3) Heavy unit (might really be heavy for some users)

But $250, you can't have it all!

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
