Strength:

Dual cassette decks with high-speed dubbing, front-panel microphone input with level adjust, great sound both through the speakers and through the headphone jack. Q-surround is a neat function, but I seldom use it. Can be used as a portable-you can attach the speakers to the unit and install some batteries, or can be used as a home minisystem-the speakers can be detached from the unit and placed anywhere within the range of the wires.

Weakness:

It would be nice if it had Dolby B NR and a switch for norm/CrO2/metal tapes. The remote cannot control the tape decks. It would also be nice if it had an auxillary RCA input, as it is the only way route an external source like VCR sound into it is to connect it to the mike jack, turn the level way down and turn on one of the tape decks. Has a hard time picking up weak FM stations, there is always a little annoying hiss in the background no matter how hard you try to orient the antenna.

Good machine, three-mode EQ and Q-surround. I play a lot of rock n' roll and it sounds great. Missing some nice features like Dolby B NR, a switch for norm/CrO2/metal tapes, and a set of aux inputs, but overall a good sound system for the price.
