Strength:

This is actually a review for the similar csd-ed26. Firstly, the Q Sound Virtual Stereo aka "Ambience", or "Stereo Wide" sounds great on the older true stereo recordings! However, for the price, it should have a backlit display. My other complaint would be that equipped with the batteries, this thing ways a ton! But then again, maube that's why it's still going strong 21 yrs and counting!

Weakness:

Explained in the previous paragraph!

Strength:

Nice Sound for a small unit. Good for kids because it has tape and CD as well as radio

Weakness:

slightly awkward shape and is kind of useless for me since I mainly listen to CDS (even my kids)

Like the product but the CD player stopped working after about 5 months. NO apparent reason that I can see, it sat on a kit counter in a corner, never moved or near H2O. No explanation for it, but I will contact AIWA to see what they can tell me.

Similar Products Used:

Under counter models, some smaller nightstand models that don't have tape players.

Strength:

Compact, loud, long antenna, makes a good door stop.

Weakness:

lack of durability, button layout (the tape buttons are next to the cd and the cd buttons next to the tape), "3-mode equalizer", unresponsive buttons (it takes about 20 seconds for the radio to realize it's been turned on)

What can I say? This is the worst stereo I've ever owned. The cd player even broke after about 10 months! (It began by going off balance then stopped turning altogether. It lacks useful features like preset stations but attempts to provide "Qsound - Virtual Stereo" that just adds noise to the sound and a "sleep" mode that only works on the radio!

Similar Products Used:

Panasonic cd radio cassette player purchased in 1990 for $95 that's been used daily through High School, College and a todler but still works better than this one did.

Strength:

size, digital tuner, elctronic graphic equalizer, Q Sound (virtual surround), and good reception

Weakness:

none

This is a good system for it's size. it doesn't have alot of bass, but for it's size, it's pretty good.

Strength:

I use it for work and it has excellent reception and good sound. (Even at low volumes)

Weakness:

A little big for my desk, but I made room.

I really have enjoyed my AIWA CSD-ED27.
