have had speakers for almost a year now. they are good speakers great highs and good mids. But the bass is something that lacks. i have them working without a cross-over bass gets muddy and distored, and not a lot off bass unless your withing a few feet of the speaker. With the cross-over set at 80hz on my surround sound unit, it helps with the muddiness a little but also kills the bass a little. i think the biggest problem is yamaha says it hits a 55hz, i call BS. it hits 70hz at a talking level. At a loud volume not to get and distortion i would have to set my 100hz. so really if yamaha really just need to up there specs, and not BS the consumer. but i have had speaker craft speakers and they were not much better. maybe i just need something with a port or 8" woofer.
