Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $80.00 from private sale

Summary:
Amazing FM performance on the cheap. Looks like nothing else out there, with two big front windows on the case, one with a digital frequency display, one with a "speedometer"-styled dial display. I had let this tuner sit for a long time while I had a Sansui T-700 digital tuner (from the later years of Sansui, after they had started building cheap junk) in my bedroom system. The Sansui died, and I brought out the DA-F20 from storage. Yow! What a difference! Where the Sansui had been flat and lifeless, suddenly there was a real stereo image with depth and definition, and a huge increase in sound quality. I live near Boston, with a crowded FM dial, and I could tune in stations that the Sansui didn't have a chance to find.u

Strengths:
Excellent sound, depth of soundstage, musicality and station selectivity. Solid construction.:

Weaknesses:
Front panel labelling paint chipping off on my unit. No AM section. No presets (not a problem for me). No service support from Mitsubishi. Manuals are nonexistent, but I'd love to find one to figure out the multipath signal rejection, and a service manual for certain adjustments.

Similar Products Used:
I've used other tuners, but none like this.µ

Review NaN of , from Hughestown Pa. I8640

Price Paid:  $75.00 from Stereo Connection

Summary:
This is just a wonderful sounding beautiful looking tuner by Mitsubishi (DA-F20) and I have been using it since 1988 with no problems. If the name was taken off and someone told me that Audio Research built it I would believe them, that's how nice it looks. Sound wise it's just wonderful and pulls in stations just great. Would I buy it again? you bet, in a heart beat. It retailed back in 1979 for $430.00 and I paid $75.00 in 1987 what a deal, and it's still working like new. It's in mint condition and never had one problem. Highly recommended.

Strengths:
It's sound, looks, and ease of operation.

Weaknesses:
I do not consider a lack of pre-sets in a analog tuner a weakness. No other weaknesses I can find
