Price Paid:  $1800.00 from Moondance Audio

Summary:
The best sounding tuner that I have ever heard (and I have heard almost all of the great tuners)! Very quiet front-end. Very good selectivity in the front-end and the IF for a stock tuner. Properly done pulse count detector. Well done MPX decoder and filter. Build quality will last for a very long time and makes most tuners look poorly constructed. Fewer alignment points help consistency and make alignments easy. Very good metering system. Fairly extended frequency response but not quite the equal of some of the best classic tuners in this regard. Add the remote and the presets, and you have a highly usable tuner that has phenominal sound. One of the best ever! Get one soon, I hear that they are going away.

Strengths:
Modern remote control digital tuner with presets. Has analog tuner sound, user interface (knob with a flyweel and good meter) and construction quality. Quiet, excellent stereo image, good stock selectivity, superb build quality, kills most of the "classic" tuners! Buy one if you can find one, the best accuphase ever (much quieter and better stereo that T100/T101 and better sound than T107/T108)! Better local than DX because of highly selective front end with a single JFET RF amp.

Weaknesses:
Not as overload proof as a some with more tuned stages, capacitor rather than varactor front-end and balanced mixers. Not the best tuner for DXers, it is better for those near to a metro area with good station sound quality (see comment above). Expensive. Wish that it had a center tune meter! Wish they made it in black!

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
