Price Paid:  $500.00 from Audio Advisor

Summary:
I bought this unit to replace the Adcom ACE-315 line conditioner that I now use for my computer system. The only difference between the two is that the ACE-615 model has time delays in powering up the amplifiers and in powering down the accessories. For both models I can honestly say I have not heard a difference in the sound or video quality with my equipment plugged into these units. I purchased them because they are excellent surge protectors and are not MOV based. Apparently the technology that the Adcom ACE units use are the same as Brickwall units and are able to protect against surges much more effectively than MOV based units. I liked the Adcom ACE units because unlike the Brickwall surge protectors the Adcom units have input and outputs for cable and DSL lines. At $500 the unit is a great buy since other dealers sell the Adcom ACE-615 for $630.

Strengths:
Excellent surge protector and it does not degrade the sound or video quality of my system. It cost only $500

Weaknesses:
Not made in the USA. At $630 it is becoming a bit pricey. No warranty on connected equipment and the warranty on the ACE-615 unit itself is only 2 years.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
