Summary:
Bought this set eight years ago for less than half the price (running out) without the matching Sony speakers. When introduced I loved the design and the specs of it but it was too expensive for me. I am still very happy with this magnificent set.

Strengths:
Everything (even balance, bass,treble) is remote-controlled
Very good sound (thanks to 65 watts rms and 100 watts peak)
Very nice design (all extra buttons are hidden), one of the best ever seen
Ease of use
fast response cd
fully automatic recording (with automatic peak searching) but also manual
Design! (twice)

Weaknesses:
CD failed twice in first three years of use, both times repaired by Sony (replacing almost everything). First time 100% paid by Sony, next time 50% paid: excellent service). CD works excellent now.

I use this system with a pair of floorstanders from Quadral (Argent 50) instead
of the one from Sony. The sound is very good (very detailed).
