On the strength of the reviews here I have just purchased an RX77 at a sell-off price of under £200 sterling. What a bargain!! and although rx77 here in uk has slightly reduced spec. as compared to north american model, the performance totally confirms what others say.
My advice - don't wait for the replacement model but track down the last of these brilliant bits of kit and rattle your neighbourhood windows with what's got to be the loudest, clearest undistorted sound you'll ever hear for the price.

This "mini-system" has better sound than many full size components.The incredibly rich base must be heard to be believed ! I don't think there is a better sounding mini system on the market today. As of July 99, many stereo shops are clearing this unit out to make room for the 99 replacement model. It's being sold for around $435 cdn now ! It would have been worth the original sticker of $599 . Grab one if you still can.
