Review 2 of 9

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Ebay

Summary:
Great sound for the dollar. 51 disk changer, loud, easy operation, modern look. Would reccomend for a bedroom system for a serious listener, and a living room system for someone who wants good sound for a smaller price tag.

Review 5 of 9

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Ultimate Electronics

Summary:
It may look like giving an add to SONY, but I bought this system after much research including Many Receivers. It may not be good bet for just for Watching Movies, but for the people who enjoy music more.It has 3Way powerpul front Speakers(instead of minicule front speakers you find in Many receivers) which produce a clear Sound Stage and Imaging. The bass is so deep and clean you will love it,
After listening to this system yo hate those Aiwa,JVC Crap.

Infact I cosidered YAMAHA, JVC, SONY, Technincs,NAKAMICHI.
FInally I decided to buy this(All of others costing more than this though).

Though Sony mentioned Frequency response of Front Speakers
Starts at 70Hz, I still doubt it is much lower than that, it really rumbles and shakes the walls. Initially I thought it needs a Sub woofer to produce much dramatic Cinema Effects for Prologic mode and bought One YAMAHA 8" (50 watt) subwoofer. But infact I never needed to use it.

The most unfortunate thing is SONY came up with a new model Replacing this MCH-M300AV which has 220 watts(20 watts more than this)with more prologic power. but it is stripped off, cheaper version( This model MSRP: $480, new One 300AV MSRP: $300).No Dolby NR for cassetes, no CD grouping, reduced EQs, low quality AMP, mostly dominating MIDS, No multi Track Music Search and Cheapy attached speakers cables instead of Binding Posts.

Suggestions to Buyers: There is probability these MCH-M3AV may be under sale(as new model came in)but definitely not cheaper than new one( you are lucky if you can get one for $300 bucks, it may be tough to find one in stock).

Please don't fall for cheaper frill and looks AIWA and some others offers. Spend some time listen to the sound Quality and then buy.

Strengths:
Excellent unit around with virtually everything built in, it got a nice 50 plus one CD changer. The extra one is for playing extra CDs , very easy to use, just press PLUS ONE button, it automatically takes it loads and plays.Cool...
And it has DJ effects Loop , flash , Optical Digital Out, Two timers to wake you up promptly with all Three sources CD,Tape,Radio.

And you have 5 Groups for grouping CD according t your criteria.

It got Many Preset equalizers, enough to fit every kinda need.(forget about fiddling with Manual EQs).

And Surround mode: it got 4 DSP modes and Dolby Prologic.good enough to enjoy movie sound tracks or DVDmovies.Though rear speaker power isn't enough for bigger rooms.

It got Double auto-rev tape Deck with with auto Sensing for Type II cassettes. Response for these decks is excellent.Try with a Maxell Type II (CrO2) cassettes. Recording is even better with Type II. Music Track Search upto 9 Tacks in both reverse and forward.

Sound Quality: Excellent Clean Bass, clean mids and Super Highs. No distortion at any Given Volume level.

Weaknesses:
Only one function can be used at any time, EX: can't rewind a tape while listening to Radio or CD. No mute button.

Similar Products Used:
Aiwa, JVC
