Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Very nice little system that we use in our living room / dining room. Small, stylish, and decent sound for the price. I looked at a number of other systems from JVC, Pioneer, and Yamaha (sony was actually my last choice when I started looking) that were larger and more expensive, but found that this little system sounded just as good and did not have any of the fluff features or a useless tape deck. (who still buys casettes??)

Strengths:
small, stylish

Weaknesses:
no sub out, but not needed if this is just being used as a bookshelf system

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $197.00 from A&B Sound

Summary:
This is a great stereo for background music. It won't blow your socks off, but the bass response from the 4 ohm speakers is impressive because they are ported at the rear for direct reflection of bass (place this thing near a wall or in a wall unit).
The remote does everything that is required, although I found the programming of the AM/FM stations to be a little confusing especially changing them.
The unit functions as an alarm clock which is handy.
There is only one input; if you need more buy something else.
The function descriptions on the front buttons are hard to see.
Sony suggests you close the CD tray with the button only, what's up with that - most are push closed AND button closed as user preference.
The CD prism on the front is somewhat unnecessary.
If you just want to listen to CD, radio and 1 other input appliance, then this is a good product for you.

Strengths:
Small Footprint

Weaknesses:
Not too much Power.
