from Radio Shack Summary: Well because i guess that i have yet to push the limits of this stereo i cannot say whether it is of the quality i have come to expect from JVC.
On the other hand so far it has met all of my expectations for a small system.
It is perfect for appartement living as it doesn't have the walloping bass of the Kaboom which will carry right thru the walls and crack building foundations.
It has a very crisp and powerful sound even at low volumes. At the moment it is plugged into my TV and it makes any movie that much better. It has theatre sound in a much smaller package.
As far as looks go it has a somewhat aggresive look but it still blends in very nicely with any bookshelf or wall unit. Everything about it is easy to read. Some of the controls aren't the most obvious but 5 minutes with the manual solves any uncertainty.
The CD player works as well as any other ot the type and the AM/FM tuner does the same as well, although i do miss the pointy metal stick on my Kaboom.
I haven't used the tape player because , i mean, who uses tapes??? It must work fine. Right?
Unfortunately it lacks some of the real power features of the models bigger then it. Strengths: Great sound.
Easy to use features.
Value pricing.
Sharp look.
Great remote. Weaknesses: I miss the walloping bass of the Kaboom.
CD changer a little on the slow side.
A little lackluster for some of the higher end features expected on a stereo of this type.
