from Onecall.com Summary: Actually the model year is 2002. I had several options to transform my large (15 years worth) analog vhs c tape collection to digital. I went with the easiest and most expensive solution. I have hassled with hooking up cameras to PCs and VCRs and Dazzle type devices and this is a much ore elegent solution - two tape decks in one with the ability to switch back and forth and dub back and forth (and to and from my computer) with great ease. Strengths: Dubbing between Computer and DV
Dubbing between Mini DV and SVHS (but see below)
Dubbing between SVHS and DV
Ease of use
Powerful analog conversion tool
Jog Shuttle
Firewire connection between computer and Mini DV Weaknesses: High Cost
No sound input controls
Jog shuttle seems cheaply built
No direct dubbing between digigal computer and SVHS (must first dub to mini DV and then re dub to SVHS - if there is a way to go directly to SVHS I can't figure it out)
Documentation is just OK as usual
Some audio drops, not sure what is causing this.
The dubbed SVHS Tapes don't appear to work on all VCRs - I don't understand this issue at all. Similar Products Used: Sony DTR 20
Dazzle Hollywood Bridge
Many poor analog video editors
