Summary: I was looking for a compact, great sounding system. My budget was tight, but I didn't want to sacrafice sound sustanance. I found the EX-TD5 on the web for $350. It had everything I was looking for to fill up my small apartment with decent sound: three CD changer, cassette player/recorder and a bi-amped speaker system. I tried those big gaudy Aiwa minisystems--they couldn't touch the JVC for quality sound reproduction.

Summary: WOW!! I am surprised by how good this system sounds! It's great! It doesn't cost a whole lot and it looks real good. I bought this system 2 years ago and everything is just as good as new. I had also added in an extra md recorder component which sounds wonderful. The only thing it doesn't have is prologic which is available in the more expensive EX-TD7.
