Bottom Line:   
In these times of everything high tech ie blueray, ipod docks, and digital everything, this is a nice throwback. It projects a nice warm tone in mono, and this may be due to the "around sound" technology whatever that is and the small wood cabinet. I paid under $70 so it was a fair value.

The external power adapter is big though, so if you can't hide it, you may not like the appearance up on your tabletop etc.

It's very simple just AM,FM and an analog style tuner which has an old-time feel to it. Actually it's the old-time retro quality of this radio that gives it that certain charm. You'll robably like it, although I don't know if similar radios with a wood cabinet can pull in more stations, I'm not about to compare right now.
