I purchased 2 80 foot series 1 HDMI Cables approximately a year ago. They were professionally installed by a certified A/V installer in the construction phase of a brand new home. Both cables have malfunctioned for the same reasons. The connector is not a robust enough design to sustain the weight of the cable without separating. The cable is extremely thick which is a good thing however, the connectors are not nearly the same quality as the cable. When contacted Blue Jean told me that 6 lbs of pressure will pull the connector out. Unfortunately an 80 foot series 1 cable weighs about 35 lbs. They immediately told me the problem was due to incorrect installation. First of all how would they know that without seeing the installation. Second of all if they know that 6lbs will destroy the connector why would they put such a flimsy connector on? I have always been pleased with Blue Jean products in the past but I'm afraid that there design flaw and failure to correct such flaw will prevent me from purchasing in the future. By the way, both of these cable were not cheap, they each sold for about $250. It's too bad as I purchase many cables a year and would have liked to continue to be a customer.
