Summary:
JVC have known as a fore front developer of Super VHS format, and they make very good VCR in this catagory, or I should say the only manufacturer who is promoting and believe this format will even sustain the globalisation of Digital Revolution.
Currently I am looking for JVC SVHS VCR model HR-S7600AM, which is a multi system version of HR-S7600U.
Can someone help me: Where can I buy this online or in Singapore, Hong Kong , jakarta or Perth ??? with the lowest price of course.
And any reviews regarding this equipment is wellcome, E-mail please.
Is it justified for me to replace my old SVHS VCR HR-SC1000U, which I used for over 10 years ?? In term of picture quality.

Summary:
This is the first VCR I've owned that has and does everything I want (at the cheapest I've paid for one). SVHS recording from Dish Network is almost as good as the original (as good on a first use tape). Playback is clear and jitter-free (Sony 27" non-XBR). I started with the S-Video cable that came with it (yes, I know) and that was okay. Then I bought a few BetterCables S-Video cables and the picture really came to life (no surprise here). My girlfriend even noticed! The sound quality is also excellent with good interconnects. I opted for the 7600 instead of the 9600 because it's black in color (matches everything else I own) and thought I might regret it but I can't even remember why I wanted the 9600 in the first place anymore. Like someone below said, I probably won't ever buy another VCR and I'm glad my last one is just about perfect. The only thing I can say negative about it is that it likes the tape put in a certain way (slowly and straight) but once I figured that out it hasn't popped any back at me since.

Summary:
Purchased this product brand new. Within 1 month the VCR started to jam tapes when ejecting. It would also spit out tapes (even brand new ones) after insertion. VCR would also rewind itself for no apparent reason. Exchanged the VCR 3 times at Good Guys. The last VCR exchanged worked for 3 months until warranty expired. Had VCR repaired 4 times through Good Guys after that. Finally I received a brand new VCR which has no problems at all.

The Commercial Advance feature should be removed from the product. When turned on for recording, the VCR takes up to 2 hours to mark commercials after recording is done. When playing back a tape with Commercial Advance recorded, the VCR slowly fast forwards the tape (with a blue screen on TV) through the commercials. Fast forwarding takes just as long as if you watched the commericals. There is no point to this feature.

Summary:
This is a follow up to a previous review. I have now used this VCR for about 9 months now and it is still an excellent value. After nine months I have had no problems what so ever. I have it hooked to digital cable and the recordings are impossible to tell from the live broadcast. The sound quality is also excellent. I highly recommend this unit to anyone in the market for a high end VCR. Funny though, this is probably the last VCR I will ever buy after 20 years of these things and it is the first one I am 100% happy with. I guess they finally figured it all out after all these years.

Summary:
Does the 7600 (or 5600 for that matter) support recording in SVHS ET in EP or LP mode in other regions? The posts seems to indicate yes, but the manual for the models sold here in Hong Kong clearly indicate that only SP mode supports SVHS ET...

The Philips 999 I already own has the same problem, which lead me to find one that CAN record SVHS ET in EP mode (& allow me to record 3 dvds per tape instead of 1).

Any ideas? I can't find the Sharp model here.. if I bring one from the US or Canada, the voltage is different and they don't support Nicam, or various systems here like Pal etc..

Extremely irritating, pls comment if you can shed any light on this.. thanks,
