Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $300.00 from American Satellite

Summary:
I can't believe this unit has not been rated before. It's been the workhorse in my system since I went to satellite in 1999. Excellent unit that was quite ahead of it's time. Only a few quirks. The Dolby Digital doesn't lock on some stations at random times. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it may not lock for hours! Menus/guide can be sluggish at times, but I've heard most others (makes/models) are even slower. I just need the HD200, because regular Directv looks horrid on my new widescreen HDTV!

Strengths:
Build quality. Video and Sound.

Weaknesses:
No Digital Coaxial output for DD. Slow guide.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
